Electrical Busbars

New designs of switchgear for voltages upto 36kV follow the principles of reducing size as much as possible. Insulated busbars provide maximum protection, particularly in confined spaces, against flashover and accidentally induced discharge. Choosing the right busbar insulation can be difficult. Many conventional insulating materials require heavy investment in tooling and do not meet manufacturers' requirements for performance and reliability. To solve this problem, Raychem RPG has developed a series of heat shrinkable tubings for use on both aluminium and copper busbars of circular and rectangular cross-section. Air Break Switches

An air switch is a switch in which the interruption of the circuit occurs in air. Air is used as the insulation medium between the open contacts (air break switch) It is widely used in 11kV & 33kV network distribution transformer sub station. All the routine & acceptance test can be carried out in house. All Type tests successfully completed as per IS: 9920 & IS: 9921 at CPRI-Bangalore & ERDA. Test Reports are available. 1) TILTING TYPE (For Voltage Ranges 11 kV to 33 kV) (i) TWO POST (ii) THREE POST A tilting insulator switch is a switch in which the opening and closing travel of the blade is accomplished by a tilting movement of one or more of the insulators supporting the conducting part of the switch. 2) DOUBLE BREAK CENTRAL ROTATING (For Voltage Ranges -11 kV to 33 kV) A double break switch is a switch, which opens the connected circuit at two points.
